RESPONSE TO WHITE HOUSE PROCLAMATION TO LIGHT IT UP BLUE

I WANT TO STATE THAT FOR ME, THERE IS NO “LIGHT IT UP BLUE.” SURE, WE NEED TO DO MORE ABOUT MAKING OUR COMMUNITIES MORE ACCEPTING OF AUTISTICS, BUT NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF AUTISTIC PEOPLE’S LIVES.

THERE ARE MORE OF US THAN EVER BEFORE – WHAT TRUMP’S PROCLAMATION ADMITS IS THAT AUTISM IS A FATE WORSE THAN DEATH – THAT WE NEED TO WORK TOWARDS A FUTURE WHERE AUTISM DOESN’T EXIST.

I SAY THAT THIS IS BULLSHIT. MAYBE IT LOOKS LIKE A CURE, BUT IN ALL HONESTY, IT IS GENOCIDE. SORRY IF I THINK YOUR PROCLAMATION SUCKS.

  1. I admire you,Niko. I don’t know what Trump said, exactly, but I will go find out! To the “unenlightened,” autism can seem daunting ( I’m choosing tame words). That’s what we must change in our society. My 13-year-old son, Matteo, is doing that in his own way, too. Autism is another way of existing on this Earth, full of beauty, challenges and gifts, just like every other person in this world.

Change is coming…society is evolving to this understanding, each time a single person gets to speak with you, my son, or any number of other Rpm’er’s who are shouting from your mountain tops. KEEP IT UP! We support you from northern CA!!
