Dear Niko, Sincerely Barack Obama

Dear Niko from Barack ObamaDear Niko,
Thank you for writing. I admire the strength and courage shown in the disabilities community, and I’m glad you took the time to send me a letter.
People living with disabilities should live free from discrimination of any kind, and my Administration is working hard to combat bullying, harassment, and prejudice in our schools and neighborhoods. We must remember that as Americans, we can only succeed if we treat each other the way we want to be treated.
We all have things we are good at, and I am striving to to build a Nation that values each of our citizens and what they have to offer. This starts with making sure every young person gets equal access to a good education, learns in a safe and supportive environment, and has the resources necessary to reach her or his greatest potential. And we need to continue fixing our health care system and finding accessible technologies to improve the lives of Americans with disabilities.
Again, thank you for your letter. All kids must know the promise of equal opportunity. While we keep working toward a fairer world, I want you to always dream big and work hard – because every one of us has something unique to contribute to the American story.
Sincerely,
Barack Obama
